Phoenix Equipment Inc. was founded in Pennsylvania in 1969 by Bob Krouse. Although it was started as a mechanical testing laboratory, it soon developed into a reseller of surplus lab instrumentation.

In 1973 the company moved to Rochester, New York, and was established as a New York State corporation. Since we guaranteed all of our instrumentation, we developed our personnel and facilities to produce the best reconditioned instrumentation in the industry. In the years since, we have become a factory authorized service group for approximately 20 manufacturers, and an expert independent service group for most analytical laboratory instrumentation.

We are the Prime Service Vendor for the University of Rochester, and as such have assisted them in reducing their service expenditures through the use of alternate services, and the use of service contracts only when financially beneficial. We have been expanding our service program to other facilities, and expect to offer a seminar on “Saving your Lab Budget” in the near future.

In the meantime, we are expanding our facilities and web-site to include our growing amount of reconditioned equipment. In the very near future, this site will also include a comprehensive listing of repair parts that are lower cost than the expensive manufacturer’s parts – watch for this listing later this year.
